My Book

I am inspired and encouraged to write and post this by a number of recent pleas for help in Facebook writers groups.

I want to write a book and I need a little help.

I can’t think of anything to write.

I don’t have a title or a main character. I don’t have a plot and I don’t have a cover idea.

So, what should I write about?

How long should it be and in which genre?

What should I call the main character and what should I call the minor character and all the lesser characters? If there are any animals, what should I call them?

Should I write in the first, second or third person?

What would be a good opening sentence? How should I follow it up? And then what?

What should the title be?

How many books can I expect to sell and how much money can I expect to make?

Who would be a good producer for the movie version?

I’ll play the lead myself. I’ve seen a lot of movies, so I’m sure I know how to act, but who should play the secondary lead?

How much can I expect to make on the movie sale? For writing the screenplay? For starring in it?

I know some people think they should receive credit and sometimes royalties for helping a fellow writer, but let’s be realistic here. This is my book.
